From its beginning, Reformation Presbyterian Church had a vision for church planting. We have prayed and planned for God to give the opportunity. In 2016, RPC called Rev. Zack Keuthan as associate pastor with the hope of sending him out to plant a church. We prayed that God would grow RPC and prepare Rev. Keuthan. Due to Covid our plans were delayed, but God’s timing is perfect. In January, we commissioned Rev. Keuthan and a core group of 32 church members to plant Fletcher Presbyterian Church.
Church planting, like everything in ministry, is a work of faith. We can do nothing apart from Christ, but with Christ all things are possible. We did not know the challenges nor the blessings before we began. Thankfully, we received wisdom and instruction from Dr. Tom Hawkes and others. At each step, the challenges have driven us to depend on Christ. We have also seen that the blessings far outweigh the challenges. Our faith, hope, and love for the Lord are deeper and richer, and we are grateful to Jesus!
Just as childbirth comes with pain yet yields great joy, so does birthing a new church. What a joy it is to have a front row seat to see the Lord begin a new church before our eyes. Please pray for this mission and that Christ would give the increase. Pray as well that RPC will continue to be a church planting church – for to this we are called by Christ!
